Whose taste buds are these?

Well, I am just wondering whose taste buds are currently taking up residence in my mouth. Last night we got a bucket of chicken for dinner - normally I love white meat and only white meat - last night I wanted nothing to do with white meat - give me the legs and the thighs! I am telling you being pregnant is just weird!

I must say - this week is so much nicer than last week. Everyone knows, which means when I have questions I can go to my mom, mother-in-law, aunts, our cousins - all who are well versed in having babies. It's great! And I don't have to keep any more secrets! I also let Pastor Al know and he always says just the right things.

"WOW!!!!!!! Praise the Lord! That is the best Christmas news I heard! The two of you will make such great parents! I am not only excited for you, I'm excited for the child that will have the privilege of coming into your home. Celebrate Life!"

I love seeing what everyone's reactions are - so far I have been cursed at by my cousin, seen people laugh, people cry and have made a few speechless (namely a good friend from college I shall refer to as BJ), he just was not quite sure how to react.

Well, it's off to my parents for New Year's - so I am looking forward to a nice laid back weekend!

Houston, we have a baby

2 days ago I saw the most unbelievable thing - I saw my baby for the first time. Okay, it looks like a cashew so it's not quite a baby yet, but it had a heartbeat. A real live heart beat that looked like the fluttering of some sort of insect wing. It's 8.5 weeks old - just amazing. My husband could not quit smiling. Okay, so the baby took us both by surprise - we weren't trying - but we are both 26, have good jobs, wanted to have children, and have been married for 16 months. It did not take us too long to get used to the idea.

People ask me constantly how I feel - I feel fine. Most of the time. I can get some pretty bad nausea and I am quite sure the baby is sucking the life out of me and thus making me one tired momma-to-be. Other than that, things are well. My husband started a blog weeks ago unknown to me - so I guess this blog is just my side of things. You can check out his blog to see daddy's side at http://babyonyoursix.blogspot.com
